A father and two of his sons from Portugal donned tefillin for the first time in their lives in Manhattan this past Friday, thanks to the dedicated work of the bochurim on ‘Menachem’s Mitzvah Tank.’

The triple ‘karkafta‘ took place near Wall St., after the father and sons were stopped by the bochurim that do mivtzoim on ‘Menachem’s Mitzvah Tank’ dedicated in memory of Menachem Brochshtat a”h and managed by the Mitzvah Tank Office.

The Mitzvah Tank goes out weekly with more than a dozen bochurim who oversee more than six mivtzoim stands all around and on Wall Street in Manhattan.

The stands are visited by dozens of Jews every week, with bochurim putting tefillin on passersby, distributing flyers on the parsha, giving out Shabbos candles, selling ois bsefer Torah and inviting Jews onto the tank to make a bracha and share a dvar Torah.

The red tank is managed by Shloimy Stern and Moishe Golomb, driven by Rabbi Moshe Serebryansky, and is part of a fleet of tanks run by the Mitzvah Tank Organization under the auspices of Lubavitch Youth Organization.
