Bikur Cholim Breakfast to Highlight Healing and Hakhel

You may wonder, how does healing connect with Hakhel? This is a question that the women of The Rebbetzin Chaya Mushka Bikur Cholim of CH faced as they planned this year’s annual Women’s Breakfast, to take place on May 14th.

The annual event is known to be an inspiring gathering, a beautiful display of unity and a reinforcement of its mission statement of bringing healing to the community.  So what would make this year’s event- during a Hakhel year- different and special?

Recognizing that the very act of gathering also leads to healing.

Bikur Cholim provides a myriad of vital services to critical patients, such as financial aid, family/household support and more.  But before any meals are delivered or any checks are cut, the very first step in any Bikur Cholim interaction is the communal embrace, an invitation to the patient to join a community of loving support so that they never feel isolated throughout their challenging medical journey.

Multiple studies have established a link between social relationships, communal belonging and positive health outcomes.  Unity, Hakhel, brings true healing on both a personal and communal level.  This has been Bikur Cholim’s mission all along- bringing people together facilitate healing.

As a representation of this powerful idea, this year’s event motif is a floral heart made of individually added flowers. This idea was developed by Click Co. and executed by Mimulo.

Each flower alone is unique and beautiful, but when combined creates a magnificent floral heart. This visual embodies the possibility of amplifying each of our unique and individual strengths by gathering with others to create a more powerful joint effort, where the sum is greater than its parts.

So, mark your calendars for the Hakhel is Healing Bikur Cholim of CH Annual Women’s Breakfast on Sunday, May 14th at 9:30 AM. Come for the meaningful program featuring MC Yaffie Begun who will share her personal story with Bikur Cholim of CH, hear inspiring words from supporters and volunteers- as well as 3 brave patients- and enjoy a lavish hot breakfast and exciting auction.

Join a community of chessed and unity and do your part- add your beautiful flower- to Bikur Cholim’s shared mission of healing with kindness.
