This year, the Shluchim Office held their annual shluchos farbrengen at the JCM, enabling them to accomodate a much larger crowd. Good thing, too- over a thousand shluchos came to bond with their colleagues and partake of the inspiration.
Throughout the evening, there were three simultaneous farbrengens, conducted in both Hebrew and English.
The Shluchos were greeted with a door prize – courtesy of The Shlichus Market- a Hebrew School curriculum display and live piano played by Mrs. Rochel Sasonkin. Downstairs, they enjoyed a tantalizing display of sushi, warming soups, freshly made doughnuts, treats from the Boozery, a take-home candy assortment, and delectable finger foods and desserts. Young mothers were thought of, too- organizers arranged free on-site babysitting.
“I really enjoyed the Farbrengens and loved how the conversation was real and unfiltered,” said Mrs. Mushka Dalfin. “There was an atmosphere of a true Chassidishe Farbrengen and an open environment for Shluchos to share and participate. Of the whole Kinus, this Farbrengen is definitely a major highlight!”
Shluchos were able to enter five raffle packages for valuable prizes. Mrs. Chana Gordon won vouchers to Kirsh Jewelers, Shaina Wigs & Repairs, Chavee Hair, CCI & CO and WUKO Gals. Mrs. Fradel Laine took home prizes to Tzfasman Jewelers, Frumie Weingarten, Totally Her and Jupe. Mrs. Rochel Chaiton was chosen for a package with gifts to Judaica World, Kettle & Cord and a 3 night stay for 2 at Pomegranate Suites. Mrs. Shternie Super won vouchers to Little Toes, iKippah and a scholarship to Tzeirei Hashluchim Winter Camp 5780, and Mrs. Chany Stolik was chosen for a 1 year CECE Membership or Hebrew School Curriculum of her choice.
This year’s Shluchos Farbrengen was sponsored by the Skolnik Family in honor of Mrs. Michla Schanowitz, Shlucha of Northwestern Suburban Lubavitch Chabad. The dedicated staff and volunteers, led by Mrs. Bassie Shemtov and coordinated by Frayde Trachtman pulled out all the stops to make the event a great success. Event planner Mrs. Tzipporah Hahn worked together with the team to plan the elegant food and set up the Shluchos Farbrengen.
