A Jew is always giving tzedaka, not just the Tuesday after the US Thanksgiving. But back in 2012, GivingTuesday was chosen as a day to encourage all people around the world to do good, launched during what at the time felt like an unprecedented disruption in global politics and the global economy.
For this year’s GivingTuesday, Facebook is going to match donations made on Facebook.com, up to 7 million dollars, with a limit of $100k per charity. Chabad.org, alongside dozens of other Chabad institutions, is jumping at the opportunity to have all donations made via Facebook, to be doubled.
All you need is an open heart and a Facebook account.
At 8 am ET tomorrow (Tuesday), the matching starts and runs on a first come first served basis. It ends when the $7m runs out.
On Tuesday at 8 am ET, please click here to donate and make a difference.
