The Crown Heights Political Action Committee (Crown Heights PAC) has officially endorsed Ahron Gluck for New York State Assembly District 43, urging residents throughout the community to vote and support his candidacy in the ongoing Democratic primary.
The Crown Heights Political Action Committee (Crown Heights PAC) has officially endorsed Ahron Gluck for New York State Assembly District 43, urging residents throughout the community to vote and support his candidacy in the ongoing Democratic primary.
In a community-wide endorsement flyer, the CH PAC called on voters to participate in the election and cast their ballots for Gluck, highlighting the importance of strong representation for the neighborhood in Albany.
The endorsement is backed by Crown Heights elected community leaders Meir New, Berel Hildeshaim, Dovid Halon, and a number of respected Crown Heights Askonim and activists, including Rabbi Yossi Garelik, Rabbi Yanky Raskin, Rabbi Moshe Pinson, Rabbi Peretz Shapiro, Mordy Kaplinsky, and Benny Rosenberger.
The endorsement comes at a time when voter participation across the district remains extremely low. According to election turnout figures, fewer than 1,000 voters from the entire district have cast ballots so far, meaning that every vote carries significant weight in determining the outcome of the race.
Community leaders supporting Gluck are encouraging residents not to sit out the election. In an ultra-low turnout contest, a relatively small number of anash votes can actually decide who will represent the district and advocate for local concerns in Albany.
Supporters say the election is an important opportunity for Crown Heights residents to have a stronger voice on issues affecting the community, including yeshivas, public safety, shelters and housing, quality of life, government accountability, and neighborhood development.
With early voting well underway and Election Day approaching, community leaders are urging every eligible voter to participate and make their voice heard.
Askonim also noted that this year’s Democratic primary ‘early voting’ overlaps with the weekend of Gimmel Taamuz and that hundreds, if not thousands, of Crown Heights Bochurim who are normally away all year round in out-of-town Yeshivas, are now in Crown Heights and can participate in the election, which can make the difference needed to win in this election. Parents are encouraged to bring along all registered household members so they can also vote.
As Yeshiva finishes this week and camp starts next week, supporters of Gluck stressed that any Crown Heights resident who will be going away for the summer and will not be in town during Election Day, should make it a priority beforehand to go to the polls today, tomorrow or this coming Sunday of ‘early voting’ so they can vote.
In addition to the endorsement of NYS Assembly candidate Ahron Gluck, The Crown Heights Political Action Committee are also endorsing Members of the State Committee candidates Nakisha O. Evans and Akel K. Williams who are running together on a slate for male and female district leaders, both whom are friends, allies and strong supporters of the Crown Heights Jewish community and have met with some members of the CH PAC recently.
As turnout remains low, one message is being repeated throughout the community: every vote matters, every vote counts, and every voter has the power to make a difference.
