This year, instead of holding the NYC Car Menorah Parade on Motzei Shabbos as usual, the organizers have decided to push it up to the second night of Chanukah, which falls out on Monday, December 23.

During this time of year, people from all over the world flock to Manhattan. This presents an opportunity to bring the light of Chanukah to an even greater number of observers than usual. The parade’s coordinators are anticipating that the greatest influx of visitors to Manhattan over Chanukah will take place during the first couple of days; therefore, the parade has been rescheduled for the purpose of Pirsumei Nisa.

The parade will depart from President and Kingston at 5:00 PM sharp on Monday evening. Since the Menorah Parade is on the second night of Chanukah, an earlier time than usual, organizers recommend that those who wish to join reserve a spot immediately.

Every family that has a Menorah attached to the top of their car is encouraged to participate in the parade. This year for a nominal fee, there will be an option to join the parade as a VIP.  Aside from helping us cover the cost of the parade, your car will be leading the other cars through the streets.

The NYPD requires a copy of each parade participant’s driver’s license and registration. All those that wish to participate in the parade MUST submit their license and registration via the registration system. To register visit Menorahparade.nyc. Registration closes Thursday, Dec. 19 At: 11:59pm.

The organizers request that all participants arrive on time so that the Menorah Parade can be present for the lighting of the world’s largest Menorah on Manhattan’s 5th Avenue.

For more information, call the parade hotline at 718-804-0077 Ext. 130, or email [email protected].

The Mitzvah Tank Organization would like to thank the NYPD Highway and the 71st Pct. for their assistance and the Hirsch, Schmukler, Shuchat and Levilev families for their tireless efforts and dedication towards all the peulos of the Mitzvah Tank Organization.

The Menorah Parade is organized by the Mitzvah Tank Organization, which is under the auspices of the Lubavitch Youth Organization.
