The students of Bais Rebbe school for girls in Los Angeles, CA, gathered for a special program and seudah in honour of the yartzeit of Rebbetzin Chaya Mushka on Chof Bais Shvat.
The program began with a Connection Point video, where the students watched as the Rebbe explained the meaning of the day in a sicha, and other individuals shared their first person accounts.
While the students enjoyed a delicious lunch at beautifully set, festive tables, representatives of each class were called up to the stage, where they explained the message of “V’hachai yiten el libo” and how every Jewish woman can take a lesson from the Rebbetzin’s life, regardless of whether she is a mother, shlucha, teacher or entrepreneur.
The girls listened as a panel of three women from the LA community, Mrs. Runya Wagner, Mrs. Mushka Teleshevsky and Ms. Estee Manssouri, shared how they live as daughters of the Rebbetzin in their personal lives.
Mrs. Chanie Pinson, principal of Bais Rebbe, spoke about her memories of the original Chof Bais Shvat in 5788.
The program concluded with heartfelt niggunim and other songs connected to the day, accompanied by live music with Mrs. Chaya Schapiro.
The program was coordinated by Bais Rebbe’s Bnos Chabad head, Frayda Hecht.
