The Rabbinical Centre of Europe, Merkaz Rabbonei Europa, is holding its annual conference this week, starting Monday, 19 Tammuz, in Zhytomyr, Ukraine, home of shliach Rabbi Shlomo Wilhelm. The Center has on its membership roll many, many shluchim, and is of major assistance to them all over Europe and beyond.
Scores of rabbonim from all over Europe, including many, many shluchim who serve as rabbonim in their respective communities, were on hand at the conference, taking part in workshops and lectures about topics and issues that are of concern to them and their shlichus and rabbonus work.
Zhytomyr is the home of the beautiful “Or Avner” resort area and is a very attractive location for vacationers and conventions alike.
The attendees will also get a chance to visit the tziyunim of the Holy Baal Shem Tov in nearby Mezhibuzh, as well as Rav Levi Yitzchok of Berditchev.
Day One on Monday was opened with a lecture by Rabbi Moshe Goldstein, businessman, and business coach, who lectured about proper time management. Rabbi Tzvi Silber, consultant to many mosdos and organizations, lectured about “The Rabbi’s home, an Economically Viable Unit,” – Healthy Management and Identifying Challenges.”
Monday’s schedule was rounded out with a lecture by Rabbi Nosson Rosen, a public speaking consultant for kiruv organizations, who spoke about the different approaches necessary for different speeches, such as workshops, speeches, lectures or a droshoh in shul. Rabbi Rosen amused the attendees with short samples of each type of speech.
The conference will continue through Thursday.
