Yissachar-Zevulun Program Sees Bochurim Master Hilchos Pesach

As part of the “Yissachar and Zevulun” project, hundreds of bochurim prepared for the upcoming yomim tovim. The dedicated bochurim were tested across all five learning tracks and received special scholarships worth tens of thousands of dollars of cash prizes.

The Igud Talmidei Hakevutzah wraps up another month of success. In the special “Yissachar and Zevulun” project, hundreds of bochurim participated this month as well. Along with the Hachonos for the upcoming yomim tovim and many mivtzoim activities the dedicated talmidim were tested across all five learning tracks and received special scholarships worth tens of thousands of dollars in cash.

As every month, in a well-organized and in-depth study process, hundreds of the dedicated students participated at 770 in all the study tracks of Yissachar and Zevulun.

A quick glance at the study benches clearly shows that a revolution is underway. Some are studying the laws of kriyas Shema from Shulchan Aruch, chelek alef; others have started on the hilchos pesach from Shulchan Aruch, chelek gimel; and across the room, a chavrusa is currently examining the sugya of “zman hageulah” and “avodas bnei yisroel b’erev hageulah” from a special compilation of Lekutei Sichot—the common thread being the consistency and stability that the Yissachar and Zevulun study tracks provide every student throughout the year.

After a thorough review of the exams and the return of the test papers, last week the scholarship distribution took place at 770, where tens of thousands of dollars were handed out in cash!

The scholarship ceremony was filled with palpable excitement in the large hall at 770. After the maariv and just before the nightly adar dancing began, hundreds of talmidim gathered at the front of 770 to receive the monthly scholarship, presented with joy and deep appreciation by the rabbis of the Igud Talmidei Hakevutzah.

This is also an opportunity to once again thank our dear donors, the “Zevulunim,” who make it possible to carry out the project in the proper spirit.

The goal of the project is clear: to enable every dedicated student to devote all his time and energy solely to Torah study, making full use of his time at the central Tomchei Tmimim Lubavitch yeshiva – 770!

How does it work? Five serious study tracks with year-long goals have been established. At the end of each month, an exam is held, and at the beginning of the following month, each student receives a respectable monetary scholarship.

Track One: Focuses on hemshech samech vov, so that throughout the year the students complete all the maamarim of the hemshech samech vov.

Track Two: Dedicated to halachic studies, where the entire chelek alef of Shulchan Aruch by the Alter Rebbe is learned—in practical halacha.

Track Three: Concentrates on “Girsah” studies, with one page a day, and b’ezras Hashem, by the end of the year the entire masechtas Ketubos and Moed Katan will be completed.

Track Four: Focused on geulah umoshiach studies, so that during the year all of Lekutei Sichos on geulah umoshiach are covered.

Track Five: New for this year—students study portions from chelek beis, gimel, daled of Shulchan Aruch, ensuring that by year’s end they emerge with a comprehensive understanding of the laws of Shabbos and all the yomim tovim in practical halacha.
