Leading kashrus authority in the US, Harav Asher Eckstein of Belz, visited Dnipro, Ukraine, where he inspected the Tiferes shmura matza bakery. He also visited the famed Menorah Center, the scenic Gan Levi Yitzchok retreat center, and the Dnipro Mesivta, where he engaged in learning with the bochurim.

The Jewish community of Dnipro was honored by a visit from Harav Asher Eckstein, chairman of Vaad Hakashrus Belz in the U.S., and one of the world’s foremost authorities on kashrus.

During his visit, Harav Eckstein toured the Menorah Center, where he visited the local Yeshiva Ketana, Tomchei Tmimim Ukraine. After meeting the bochurim and being deeply impressed by their enthusiasm, dedication, and the lively Torah atmosphere in the yeshiva, he proceeded to deliver a special shiur specifically for the bochurim.

Additionally, Rabbi Eckstein met with Rabbi Shmuel Kaminezki, Chief Rabbi of Dnipro and the region. He then visited Dnipro’s renowned handmade shmura matza bakery, Tiferes Matzos. Accompanied by Rabbi Meir Tzvi Stambler, head of the Federation of Jewish Communities of Ukraine, Rabbi Yisroel Aryeh Leib Gurevich, current head of the Kashrus Department of the Dnipro Jewish community, and his predecessor, Rabbi Elisha Baram, Harav Eckstein conducted a detailed inspection of the bakery’s operations.

After a thorough review, Harav Eckstein expressed full satisfaction and even admiration for everything he saw. He emphasized how deeply impressed he was and immediately informed the Vaad HaKashrus of Belz USA of the high level of kashrus standards maintained at the bakery. He confirmed that the bakery would now receive official kosher certification from the organization.

“Our matza bakery is certified by the Chief Rabbi of Dnipro, by the Chief Rabbi of Kfar Chabad, and by the internationally respected OK Kosher Certification,” said Rabbi Stambler, head of the FJC Ukraine. “We are very pleased that we will now also receive kosher certification from the highly respected Vaad HaKashrus of Belz USA, a name known and revered worldwide. From beginning to end, Rabbi Eckstein observed our matza production process, studied our unique approach to kashrus, and was deeply impressed and entirely satisfied. With great joy, he granted his hechsher, immediately notifying his office of the decision to certify our entire production line.”

Harav Eckstein, together with Rabbi Kaminezki and Rabbi Stambler, also visited the scenic Gan Levi Yitzchok retreat center, where he delivered a shiur for the men currently enjoying this restful and exquisite environment.
