The streets of the Chabad neighborhood in Yerushalayim came alive this Chol Hamoed, as thousands of Chassidim, local residents, and guests filled the area for the city’s central Simchas Beis Hashoeiva celebration.
The lively event, held with grandeur and true chassidishe warmth, was organized by Tzach of Yerushalayim under the leadership of Rabbi Naftali Rot, who served as the evening’s emcee. In his opening remarks, Rabbi Rot welcomed the crowd, emphasizing the Rebbe’s call for joy in the public domain during Sukkos.
Rabbi Yaakov Halperin, the Rebbe’s shliach and Chabad representative on the Jerusalem City Council, addressed the participants, conveying greetings from Mayor Moshe Leon and commending the efforts of Tzach for spreading the light of Yiddishkeit and simcha throughout the city.
Throughout the evening, spirited music and chassidishe dancing filled the streets. The crowd was uplifted by performances from renowned singers R’ Ephraim Mendelson, R’ Avraham Moskowitz, R’ Motti Goldman, and R’ Aharon Sitbon, accompanied by the orchestra led by R’ Avremi Cohen. Adding to the excitement, a local dancer wowed the audience with a stunning display that blended chassidishe dance, fire torches, and colorful fireworks.
As the joyous evening drew to a close, Rabbi Rot thanked Rabbi Halperin, Rabbi Eliyahu Schlossberg, and the organizing team for their tireless dedication in ensuring the event’s success, leaving Yerushalayim illuminated with unity, joy, and a true Kiddush Hashem.
