Thousands attended the heartrending funeral of Binyomin Loeb, a Lubavitcher from France who served in the IDF and was killed in the Simchas Torah massacre.
Binyomin is the son of Rabbi Netanel and Judith Loeb who live in Yerres, France. He immigrated to Eretz Yisroel as a lone soldier to serve in the IDF. On Shabbos, he was murdered by Hamas terrorists ym”s as he fought to protect his brother and sisters.
Despite most of his family being unable to travel to Eretz Yisroel for the funeral, thousands showed up to show their support and mourn together with the family.
An especially poignant moment during the levaya was when the participants sang the Alter Rebbe’s niggun of Daled Bavos. Traditionally, the niggun is sung at sacred occasions such as a wedding, but as Binyomin was killed before he was able to build his own home, the niggun was sung at his funeral instead…
