After multiple near-accidents involving schoolchildren riding scooters, Oholei Torah is teaching its students about safety and mentchlichkeit on Crown Heights sidewalks.

Oholei Torah is devoting this Monday and Tuesday to scooter safety, with Hatzala members and public officials visiting the school to speak with the talmidim.
During these two days, riding to school by scooter is suspended, giving the students time to absorb the seriousness of the issue and be prepared to drive safely come Wednesday.
To be allowed to ride to Oholei Torah, talmidim will need to read the school’s scooter rules and sign a slip stating their compliance. The rules focus on basic scooter and road safety, sharing the sidewalk properly with others and riding like a mentch.
