Reuven Morrison, a member of the Chabad community in Sydney, has been identified as one of the victims killed in the terrorist attack in Australia.

Originally from the USSR, Reuven discovered his Jewish identity in Sydney. He later became a longtime resident of Melbourne, where he and his wife moved in order to provide their daughter, Shaina, with a strong education. Despite the move, he remained deeply connected to Sydney, where he continued to conduct business.

A successful businessman, Reuven’s primary goal was to give away his earnings to charitable causes close to his heart, notably Chabad of Bondi, which organized the Chanukah event.

He is survived by his wife, Leah, and daughter Shaina Gutnick, and grandchildren.
