‘Project Gaaguim’ by Rabbi Menachem Amar released a new track in his collection of original and authentic niggunim. Known as the “Slavita Niggun” (Niggun Mislavita), it is recorded as Niggun 41 in Sefer HaNiggunim.
This melody was composed by the rabbinic brothers of the Shapira family, known as the owners of the Chassidic printing press in Slavita.
Following a malicious libel against them, the Rabbis Shapira were arrested and severely beaten. While being beaten until they bled, the brothers began to sing this melody, which expresses spiritual elevation, fortitude, Jewish pride, and strong trust in Hashem.
To date, 87 niggunim have been released by the project.
Credits: Vocals: Rabbi Menachem Mendel Amar, Arrangement: R’ Oved Munis, Violin and Musical Production: R’ Mordechai Brodsky, Consultation and Guidance: Rabbi Chaim Weiss
