Ohel Bus Starts New Manhattan Line In Honor of 30 Years

A brand new line traveling from Manhattan to the Ohel every Sunday morning will be starting this week and continuing throughout the year, in honor of 30 years since Gimmel Tammuz.

The incredible Ohel Bus, started by Yossi Rosenberg two years ago, has expanded and accommodated thousands of trips since its inception. Now, for the first time ever, and in a groundbreaking move to provide opportunities for a new sector, the Ohel Bus will be opening a service line every Sunday morning from Manhattan in honor of 30 years since Gimmel Tammuz.

Originally, Rosenberg realized that there wasn’t a consistent evening bus to the Ohel available for people to catch from Crown Heights. He decided to arrange one and see if he could be of service to the community and its guests. When he got involved, he didn’t dream of what this small endeavor would build to and how full-time of an operation it would come to be.

What started as a twice-a-week service, is now a daily venture of four round-trips from Crown Heights to the Ohel and back, and includes expanded schedules for the days before and after any Yoma Depagra. This new line from Manhattan, is the first steady location aside from Crown Heights, and marks an impressive expansion and recognition of the widespread need people from all walks of life have to visit the Rebbe’s Ohel.

The Ohel Bus has brought tens of thousands of Yidden to the Ohel and enabled so many people who otherwise would not have the opportunity to go and visit the Rebbe. Just like pre Gimmel Tammuz days when people worked tirelessly to bring groups to 770, the Ohel Bus is doing the work of bringing people to the Rebbe and making it convenient and possible.

The Manhattan bus line tickets must be ordered in advance at least two hours before- by 9:00 am Sunday morning. To purchase a ticket click here.

  1. Where exactly will the pickup location be? And will there be a round trip option or is it 1 way only?
