With gratitude to Hashem and inspired by the Rebbe’s ever–present call to reach every Jew with warmth and light, Rabbi Leibel and Devorah Simpson (née Tiechtel), together with their two children, are setting out on shlichus to establish Chabad Riverside, serving the communities of Cabin John, Glen Echo, and Brookmont, Maryland.

Their shlichus is taking place under the Mercaz Menachem Chabad framework led by Rabbi Bentzion Geisinsky, within the Greater Chabad of Maryland directed by Rabbi Shmuel Kaplan.

These neighborhoods, located just minutes from Washington, D.C., include many Jewish families who have not yet had a consistent Chabad presence offering ongoing programming, learning, and personal outreach. With deep dedication to the Rebbe’s vision, Rabbi Leibel and Devorah aim to bring Torah, mitzvos, and genuine chassidishe warmth to every Jew they encounter.

Chabad Riverside will with Hashem’s help offer Shabbos and Yom Tov meals, holiday celebrations, children’s programming, adult Torah learning, mitzva services, and personal visits—each interaction focused on building meaningful relationships and nurturing Jewish identity.

As they prepare to begin this new chapter, the Simpsons invite friends, supporters, and Anash worldwide to partner with them in illuminating their communities with the Rebbe’s vision of light, warmth, and unity.
