Following the exclusive article on Anash.org disclosing the opening of a new Yeshiva for Americans in Eretz Yisroel, Anash.org has learned more details about the yeshiva, including where it will be located.

The new yeshiva will led by experienced educators who are presenting a clear vision for what they are setting out to accomplish. Only a short time after the yeshiva was announced, bochurim have already been expressing a strong interest in the new yeshiva, hoping to have the chance to enjoy their upcoming year there.

The Hanholo of the new Yeshiva will include Menahel Rabbi Chaim Moss and Rosh Yeshiva Rabbi Shimon Garbose, both coming with extensive backgrounds and experience in chinuch. Rabbi Meir Levinger and Rabbi Elchonon Cohen will serve as mashpi’im, and Rabbi Yosef Malkin will be joining as educational counselor.

The new yeshiva will be located in the Ramat Beit Shemesh Gimmel neighborhood, a short 25 minute drive from Yerushalayim. The yeshiva will be located within the local Chabad community, adding a new dimension to one of the newest and most vibrant Chabad communities in the country.

Since the official announcement of the yeshiva’s opening, the hanhala has been fielding calls from around the world, answering questions, explaining, and presenting the details for the new yeshiva for interested bochurim and parents.

“Baruch Hashem, we are receiving a lot of questions and interest from bochurim, and applications are coming in,” Rabbi Moss said. “The preparations for the upcoming year are in full swing, and we will have more exciting updates over the coming months.”

Rosh Yeshiva Rabbi Garbose says that the yeshiva will be providing a high  level of learning and an intensive learning environment that will stimulate every bochur.

“The Alter Rebbe writes in Tanya that when one understands a Halacha or a Mishna or a Sugya in Gemara, one’s mind is wrapped around Hashem’s wisdom and will, this is what we wish to facilitate.

“The yeshiva is geared for a high achieving Talmid who is interested in broadening his level of learning and deeper understanding. The solid structure and close guidance the yeshiva will provide are key components to helping a Talmid achieve this level of learning on his own.” he said.

“We have received a large number of questions asking which type of bochur the yeshiva will be geared for,” Rabbi Moss said.

“Our objective is to attract committed, sincere bochurim, who want to grow and have the capacity and passion for focused learning in a serious environment.”

“Bezras Hashem, we will provide the bochurim with a year of spiritual growth together with comfortable american style accommodations, all while enjoying the unique experience of being in Eretz Yisroel,” he said.

For the first year, the yeshiva will be starting off with a Shiur Alef Zal class, for bochurim graduating from Shiur Gimmel Mesivta. A possibility of opening a Shiur Beis as well is being explored, and depends on the level of interest.

Members of the host community in Ramat Beit Shemesh Gimmel are very much looking forward to the upcoming year and hosting the newest addition to their community.

“The Chabad community in Ramat Beit Shemesh Gimmel is very unique, being only five years old, but already having attracted over 100 anash families, a majority of them from overseas,” said Rabbi Moshe Raichman, community member and founder of ChabadMatch. “There is a young energy here, and the community thrives under the dynamic leadership of Shliach Rabbi Binyomin Mendelsohn and community Rov Rabbi Chaim Gluckowsky. An English-speaking Yeshiva is a perfect fit for our community, and we are very excited about it.”

Community members say that they are anticipating the learning atmosphere that the yeshiva will bring, as well as the boost to the community by having refined and energetic bochurim spending their year there.

“We are looking forward to learning and hosting the bochurim, for the chance to have them in our homes for Shabbos meals and farbrengens,” Reichman said.

The hanhala concluded by laying out their vision for the learning structure they hope to build.

“When it comes to Gemora B’iyun, after the talmidim have developed a solid grounding in pshat (Gemora, Rashi, Tosafos) – which is a prerequisite to deeper learning, we will be going simultaneously in two directions, which complement each other,” explained Rabbi Garbose.

“One concerns itself with going deeper in the Mehalech of the Sugya, oimek hapshat in the wording and logic of the Gemara, Rashi, Tosafos. The second is to see conceptually the Torah wide discussion of certain sugyos, mapping the Sugya in various places in Shas – and defining the concepts. These two approaches will be achieved mainly through having a daily shiur and then a shiur Kloli.”

“In Chassidus as well, we will have a detailed and thorough curriculum,” said Menahel Rabbi Chaim Moss. “Our goal is to give each Talmid skills for how to analyse and understand deeply the structure (mehalech) of a Maamar or Hemshech. At the same time, each talmid will be increasing his understanding of all key concepts in Chassidus. Both the Girsa and Iyun Chassidus Seder will be formulated to achieve both of these goals (each with its own emphasis)”.

The yeshiva will be opening for the 5782 yeshiva year with a limited number of spots. To find out more about the yeshiva, click here.
