A new groundbreaking AI-powered tool will transform how users access and explore JEM’s vast archive of Rebbe videos. Unlike a traditional search engine, this intelligent guide will provide curated results that include concise AI-generated summaries alongside direct links to the Rebbe’s original words.
For decades, Jewish Educational Media (JEM) has meticulously curated, translated, and produced thousands of videos capturing the Rebbe’s teachings and personal interactions. Soon, JEM will be rolling out a groundbreaking AI-powered tool that will transform how users access and explore this vast archive.
“This technology bridges the last mile for today’s users, allowing them to uncover practical guidance and connections in the Rebbe’s teachings they never knew existed,” explains Rabbi Elkanah Shmotkin, Executive Director of JEM.
Currently in its final stages of testing, the beta version will soon be made available to JEMClub members, followed by a phased rollout that will ultimately allow all JEM.tv visitors to benefit.
Unlike a traditional search engine, this intelligent guide enables users to type or speak a question, or search request—just as they would ask a JEM expert—and receive curated results that include concise AI-generated summaries alongside direct links to the Rebbe’s original words—whether in a video recording or a firsthand account of a private audience or conversation.
Rabbi Mendel Gourarie, JEM’s Director of Development, elaborated on one of the benefits of this project. “Whether you’re seeking the Rebbe’s guidance for a specific issue or exploring a particular topic, the system will not only provide a concise response but will also direct you to the precise moment in the original video where the Rebbe addresses your question.”
The development team took extraordinary care to ensure the system’s accuracy. “We’ve invested thousands of hours of scholarly expertise to create sophisticated guardrails within the system,” explains Rabbi Gourarie. “Led by Rabbi Dovid Goldberg, the scholars and developers created multiple layers of verification, seeking to ensure that every response authentically represents the Rebbe’s teachings. Our intent was not to create a simple AI interpretation, but a carefully guided pathway to the Rebbe’s actual words, with direct links to primary sources.”
Recognizing the opportunity to use technology to bring the Rebbe’s wisdom to a wider audience, Mr. Igor Tulchinsky, founder, chairman, and CEO of WorldQuant, generously spearheaded the innovative technology initiative, providing lead funding, alongside the members of the JEM Foundation.
Explaining the reason for his charitable investment in the project, Tulchinsky said: “What excites me most about this project is the opportunity to use technology to bring the wisdom of the Rebbe—one of the most intelligent, prophetic, and remarkable figures in history—to a global audience.”
“By leveraging AI to analyze and synthesize the Rebbe’s extensive teachings, we can share his insights in ways that make a meaningful impact on the world,” he continued.
The Rohr Family Foundation and Benyamin Federman provided lead funding for the Living Archive, an initiative that preserved the archival video, audio and photos. The Grinshtein Family, Eliyahu and Inna Kholodenko and Family, George and Pamela Rohr and Zusha and Shulamis Tenenbaum, led the years-long scholarly effort to index the materials. Their generosity and foresight laid the foundation that made this historic leap forward a reality.
This project continues JEM’s more-than-30-years effort to preserve, restore, and share the Rebbe’s teachings. Through its vast archive of thousands of videos, personal encounters, and historical recordings, JEM has made the Rebbe’s wisdom more accessible than ever before. From the weekly Living Torah series, to the nightly Good Night, My Child program, JEM’s continued innovations ensure that the Rebbe’s words reach and inspire people across the world.
With the launch of this tool, users will experience a new level of personal connection to the Rebbe’s words. “It’s one thing to know that the Rebbe spoke about a certain topic; it’s another to have his exact words at your fingertips, instantly accessible,” said Rabbi JJ Munitz, JEM’s Director of Marketing.
Since JEM’s earliest archival efforts, the goal has been not just to collect the Rebbe’s teachings but to make them accessible and searchable in a meaningful way. “By becoming a JEMClub member today,” concluded Rabbi Munitz, “you’ll be supporting this transformative project—and when the beta version becomes available, you’ll be among the first to experience it and help refine the system.”
