Mechanech Shares Rebbe’s Tanya Guidance to Overcome His Stutter
At a community farbrengen in Toronto, Rabbi Zalman Leib Markowitz urged participants to learn Chassidus to uncover the “little oil within” and shared how the Rebbe’s guidance helped him overcome a childhood stutter through learning Tanya.
Chabad Lubavitch of Southern Ontario held a warm and uplifting Yud-Tes Kislev celebration, complete with a generous buffet and music.
The program included a children’s choir and a trio of musicians – Moshe Lexier, Shmiely Zweibel, and Mordechai Kanner – with local talent Zevi Wagowsky joining in as well. More than 200 people came out and enjoyed the lively, heartfelt atmosphere.
Among the distinguished guests was Rabbi Dr. Seth Gower, Rosh Yeshiva and principal of Bnei Akiva Schools in Toronto and chairman of Mizrachi Canada.
The guest speaker was Rabbi Zalman Leib Markowitz, a senior mechanech and mashpia from Monsey.
Rabbi Markowitz urged everyone to learn Chassidus to uncover the “little oil within” – the inner spark each person carries, even in the middle of everyday life. He shared how the Rebbe’s guidance helped him overcome a childhood stutter through learning the “happy chapters” of Tanya and encouraged everyone to learn Chassidus with sincerity.
He spoke with warmth about his Satmar upbringing and his journey as he embraced Chabad. He emphasized the Alter Rebbe’s geulah as a mission to illuminate the world, the unique role of our generation, and the transformative power of a farbrengen.
He concluded with the vision that when Moshiach comes, the world itself will become light and able to hold revealed elokus.
FULL REPLAY

The best part was the professional songs done by the choir made by Rabbi Weinfeld and his grade 5 class.
We always enjoy Rabbi Weinfeld’s performance. They are top notch!
