Jewish Online School Students Spread the Light

Over Chanukah, students of the Nigri Jewish Online School of the Shluchim Office gave out Chanukah kits, sharing the light of Chanukah to their communities around the world.
The Nigri Jewish Online School, sister school to Nigri Shluchim Online School caters to families worldwide who don’t have access to Jewish education or prefer online learning.
Before Chanukah, the school launched their annual #SpreadTheLight campaign, mailing each student a package of Menorahs, one to keep and use and others to share with Jewish families who didn’t have a Menorah.
The students were thrilled to get their Chanukah package and were empowered to spread the light of Chanukah to their surroundings.
In addition, each student received their very own Jewish Online School Magazine. The magazine, called Beyond the Screen, featured students who live around the world, comics, games, stories and more.
One student, Eliana from Norway gave away her Menorah to David, a visiting scholar, who took it to Tromsø, Norway. He used the Menorah to spread light to the very small Jewish population there!
“Like Eliana, we are so proud of our incredible students for taking the message of spreading the light to heart in the most powerful way,” shared Principal Mrs. Chanie Hertzel. “It’s been so inspiring to see the photos and hear the stories of the impact the Jewish Online School students made on Chanukah all around the world!”
