Feeling a responsibility, as the Head Shliach of Florida, for the Yidden that remaining missing in Surfside, Rabbi Avraham Korf traveled specially to the Ohel to daven for them. It turned out to be a timely visit, just hours prior to the passing of his brother, Rabbi Pinye Korf.
As the Head-Shliach of Florida and Regional Director of Florida Friends of Lubavitch, the mantra Rabbi Avraham Korf lives by has always been a responsibility to all Jews and especially Anash and Shluchim who he represents.
The shocking event in Surfside, FL which has gripped everyone with a sense of horror but a fervent hope to see survivors, among whom are also our fellow Anash, has left Rabbi Korf in a state of agitation and unfettered hope in spite of the odds against it.
At this stage in his life, it isn’t easy at all for him to board a plane and wait interminable hours due to delays and all that comes with it – having just been traveled to the Rebbe for Gimmel Tammuz – yet Rabbi Korf felt the situation was simply unacceptable and that he must go to the Ohel.
To this end, he drafted his son, Rabbi Benzion Korf, Dean and Director of Lubavitch Educational Center, to accompany him in this vital task due to the dire need for a miracle from the Rebbe.
“May our prayers be answered swiftly, and may we merit the ultimate redemption with the coming of Moshiach now,” said Rabbi Korf.
