Shortly after recovering from a heart procedure, Harav Yitzchok Yehuda Yeruslavksy gives definitive instructions regarding Tuesday’s elections.
In a letter instructing Anash of Nachlas Har Chabad to vote for the most Charedi party and not to vote for Otzma, Harav Yeruslavsky added a note by hand.
Towards the bottom of the letter, the words (translated from the original Hebrew) “For the charedi party, either Gimmel or Shas alone” were added.
Tensions surrounding this election cycle have been high, and Chabad Rabbanim and Roshei Yeshiva have recently weighed in on the matter. Harav Yeruslavsky is the first one to mention Shas – the religious Sefardic party – as a valid option for Lubavitcher chassidim.
