Fresh Edition of ‘Bnei Heichala’ Brings Chayus to Life

A new volume of the prestigious B’nei Heichala journal has been released for Yud-Tes Kislev, featuring analyses of the Rebbe’s Torah, historical discussions, farbrengens from mashpiim, and in-depth Chiddushei Torah from Rabbonim and Roshei Yeshiva.

The lion’s share of this Yud-Tes Kislev issue, published for thousands of bochurim worldwide in honor of the Rosh Hashana for Chassidus, is dedicated to the theme of ‘Chayus’  – the vitality and life – that Chassidus and conducting oneself in the ways of Chassidus grants to every chossid.

The booklet opens with a transcript from a vibrant and inspiring Farbrengen by the Mashpia of Morristown, Rabbi Elimelech Zweibel A.H., known for his incredible intelligence and genius yet down-to-earth and relatable style with the generations of bochurim he taught and farbrenged with.

Rosh Yeshiva of Argentina, Rabbi Osher Farkash, presents a fascinating chain of avodas hatefilah through the generations, up to the Sichos and letters of the Rebbe, which place avodas hatefilah at the core of our generation’s avoda.

As a complement to this, a resource list compiled from the Rebbe’s Maamorim for engaging in avodas hatfillah is included.

In a conversation with Montreal Mashpia Rabbi Yitzchak Meir Gurary, a conceptual and practical path, accessible to every bochur, is outlined for engaging in avodas hatefilah even in our generation.

The chief editor of the newly released ‘Tanya Hasholeim,’ Rabbi Mendel Kaplan, discusses the Rebbe’s novel approach to the flow of the Tanya, granting a unique perspective on the style of study that such a Sefer enables bochurim learning Tanya to engage in.

A comprehensive overview of the history of this Tanya project, starting with the Rebbe nearly a hundred years ago until the ambitious project reached its conclusion last summer, is attached to the column.

Alongside these articles, the issue also features additional essays full of rich and fascinating content, including:

 * An in-depth Shiur by Brunoy Rosh Yeshiva, Rabbi Yechiel Menachem Mendel Kalmanson, on the beginning of Bava Kamma (which is being learned this year in Yeshivas), based on a fascinating letter from the Rebbe to Harav Shlomo Yosef Zevin of the Encyclopedia Talmudis.

 * ‘Electricity in Halacha’: A fascinating scientific-legal debate on the essence of electricity, which led to a massive disagreement among major poskim in recent generations.

 * A comprehensive report on the intriguing figure of the author of the book ‘Maskil L’Dovid,’ familiar to most from the Rebbe’s Rashi Sichos.

 * A halachic essay on the rededication of the Menorah in the third Beis HaMikdosh, based on a Maamar from the Rebbe.

“We are full of hope,” the editors of B’nei Heichala write, “that this issue will be received favorably, like its predecessors, and will arouse in each and every reader Chayus to add and strengthen themselves in the study and ways of Chassidus.”

Bnei Heichala is available at Crown Heights seforim stores or online here.
