Crown Heights Community to Hold Unity Bonfire

A grand unity bonfire for the entire Crown Heights community will be held on Thursday night, Lag B’Omer at George Wingate High School on Kingston Avenue. A special children’s program will also be held.

A grand unity bonfire for the entire Crown Heights community will be held on Thursday night, the eve of Lag B’Omer, the hilula of the Rashbi.

Men, women and children are invited to the bonfire, which will take place at George Wingate High School on Kingston Avenue (between Rutland and Winthrop). There will be separate areas for men and women.

The program will begin at 7:30 PM with a storyteller and an entertainer, followed by the hadlaka program at 8:30 PM.

Bidding will be held for lighting of the bonfire, and the program will feature the lighting of the giant bonfire and live music and dancing. Refreshments will be served.

The bonfire is held in memory of Saadia Shmuel a”h Liberow and is sponsored by Anash of Crown Heights and Irgun Simchas HaRashbi.
