Following a number of recent controversies involving non-Jews men living as Jews, thirty shluchim from across France attended a two-day comprehensive course on the laws of Chuppa and Kiddushin, learning about various shailos that often arise in the process of conducting a Jewish wedding.

The shluchim familiarized themselves with the practical laws and customs of officiating at a wedding. Subjects covered included the halachos of kosher witnesses, yuchsin, the kesuba, the ring, the terms used to affect the marriage, among other topics.

The course was given by Rabbi Yochanan Gurary, Chief Rabbi of Cholon and a member of Beis Din Rabbonei Chabad in Eretz Yisroel as well as Rabbi Pinchas Althaus, member of the Cholon Rabbinate and head of its marriage department.

The two-day course was held at the Beis Chabad in Créteil, France, led by Rabbi Chaim Mellul.
