This year will mark 25 years from Gimmel Tammuz. As Chassidim of the Rebbe, many of us yearn to utilize the day as an opportunity to strengthen our hiskashrus to our beloved Rebbe.
We are excited to share that a group of women from around the world, in conjunction with Vaad Or Vechom Hahiskashrus, are working tirelessly to create a special Shabbos experience for women and girls of all ages. This is an opportunity to spend the 24+ hours of Gimmel Tammuz enveloped in a cocoon of warmth, Farbrenging, learning and connecting with fellow Chassidim.
Since it was announced on Whatsapp just a few days ago, over 150 women from Crown Heights, Florida, and all over the country have responded enthusiastically and reserved their spots to join this special Shabbos.
The inspiration for this project is based in part on the Rebbe’s words from 24 Teves 5723:
“On the day of the Yom Hahilulah the nasi is m’orer a general rachamim rabim for all chassidim and their families. And arouses a special rachamim rabim for those that designate time in the day for learning the Rebbe’s Torah with chasiddishe farbrengen.”
The Shabbos Hiskashrus, taking place in the Hilton JFK hotel, will be hosting inspiring speakers, farbrengers and teachers, including Mrs. Pearl Krasnianski from Hawaii, Mrs. Mashi Lipskar from Johannesburg and Rabbi Yosef Chaim Kantor from Thailand. There will be a children’s program, babysitting for toddlers and a special track for teen girls.
The hotel’s close proximity to the Ohel will make it easy for participants to spend time at the Ohel just before or immediately following Shabbos. In addition, for those who would like, there will be a group walking to the Ohel towards the end of Shabbos for a special women’s farbrengen with inspiring speakers for women.
Space is very limited, all are encouraged to sign up ASAP.
This program has been heavily subsidized by a group of generous donors. The cost for the program is only $100 with a subsidized price of $50 available (children’s price is $35 and subsidized $20). We have secured a great price for hotel rooms that is only available until June 5 at 11:59pm.
For participants who are traveling to the Rebbe from out of town, the group rate is available for Thursday night and Motzoei Shabbos as well.
