After the Frierdiker Rebbe was expelled from the USSR, it seemed that a century-plus of holy work in the country had come to an end…but then there arose a leader, a pillar of kedusha. Watch here. 

The year was 1927. The Frierdiker Rebbe, who had only recently been released from Soviet imprisonment, was finally allowed to leave the USSR.

After over a century that the Chabad Rebbeim had led Klal Yisroel while living in Russia, the Frierdiker Rebbe was now relocating out of the country.

But there remained a spark, a flame of kedusha. 

Rabbi Levi Yitzchok Schneerson, scion of the Schneerson family, remained in Russia, a fearless leader and guide for those who had remained behind.

For his work in teaching Torah and spreading Yiddishkeit, he was exiled, and he passed away while in exile. Yet, his legacy did not die, and today, 80-plus years after his passing, the shluchim of his son, the Rebbe, continue marching on the path he paved with blood and tears.

It was in Kazakhstan that he gave his life, and it is there his legacy is alive!
