A major milestone for the Jewish community of Astrakhan, in southern Russia. For the first time ever, a Mikvah has been built in the city.

The ceremony was attended by Chief Rabbi of Russia Berel Lazar and former Governor of the Astrakhan Region Alexander Zhilkin.

The long-awaited event was made possible thanks to the sponsorship of hundreds of Jewish families from around the world.
