Chabad of Zambia Rabbi Mendy Hertzel hosted a unity gathering for the Yidden of Zambia and other well-wishers to gather and say tefilos for Eretz Yisroel.
Rabbi Mendy Hertzel of Chabad of Zambia hosted an event for his community members and other well-wishers of the Jewish people, to daven in honor of those murdered on Simchas Torah. Those gathered said a tefila l’iluy nishmas all the kedoshim and and lit candles in their honor.
At the event, a woman who came special from Israel, from the yishuvim in the Gaza envelope, addressed the crowd and shared with them her experiences on surviving the Simchas Torah massacre in her yishuv.
A big theme at the event was becoming a giver and spreading light. How every person can fulfil the Sheva Mitzvos B’nei Noach and spread goodness throughout their neighborhood and community.
“Each of us should see each other as a candle,” explained Rabbi Hertzel, “to light the next person. We have to make the world a better place for all to live.”
Following his address, the crowd watched a Video of the Rebbe speaking about the concept of giving tzedaka. Everyone then got a tzadaka box and was encouraged to become a giver- to actively seek out opportunities to reach out to others and make a difference.
Attending, was a representative of the king of Zambia, there to support the event. All of those in attendance were deeply moved by the inspiring words and meaningful message shared.
