‘You Taught Me Tefillin!’ Boy Recognizes Yahaduton Star at 770
The star of Yahaduton’s mivtzoim videos, Oded Manster, visited 770 with his son Guy for a heartwarming tour. The visit turned unforgettable when a New Jersey boy recognized Oded, having learned to put on tefillin from his video, and they put on tefillin together on the spot.
A familiar face to countless Jewish homes around the world, Oded Manster has spent the past fifteen years as the leading Jewish presenter behind Yahaduton’s popular mitzvah-education videos. His clear explanations and warm delivery have made him the go-to figure for accessible Jewish instruction.
This week, Oded arrived at 770 together with his son, Guy Manster, who has already begun following in his father’s footsteps. Guy recently appeared in Yahaduton’s new video on Ahavas Yisrael, and has also made his mark on Israeli screens in a well-received series produced in honor of their U.S. trip.
The Manster family was welcomed for a guided tour of 770, led by Rabbi Mendel Eisenbach, director of the “Beis Chabad 770” Visitors Center. The visit offered a close look at the history, energy, and daily life inside the Rebbe’s shul and headquarters.
A particularly moving moment unfolded when a young Jewish boy from New Jersey recognized Oded and ran over to thank him. “Because of you, I learned how to put on tefillin,” he said. Right then and there, the two put on tefillin together—while, in the background, Oded’s own well-known Yahaduton video on how to put on tefillin played on the screen. It was a scene that captured the far-reaching impact of Jewish education in the digital age.
In the WLCC broadcast room, Oded met Rabbi Chaim Baruch Halberstam, director of “Bedek HaBayis 770” and founder and director of WLCC and Beis Chabad 770. The two spoke about the vital work of documenting and preserving the Rebbe’s activities for future generations.
