Wolosow Family to Dedicate Sefer Torah for Children
A siyum sefer Torah will take place in Sharon, MA, on Sunday, 7 Shvat, by the Wolosow family, l’iluy nishmas Rabbi Levi Yitzchok Wolosow a”h and Rabbi Menachem Mendel Plotkin a”h.
A siyum sefer Torah will take place on Sunday, 7 Shvat, in Sharon, Massachusetts, l’iluy nishmas Rabbi Levi Yitzchok Wolosow a”h and Rabbi Menachem Mendel Plotkin a”h.
The sefer Torah is being dedicated by Rabbi Chaim and Sara Wolosow, shluchim to Sharon, in memory of their son and son-in-law.
Rabbi Levi Wolosow served as a shliach in Manalapan, New Jersey, where he led shiurim and adult education. He passed away suddenly on 5 Shvat, 5785 (2025) at the age of 43. He is survived by his wife, Chanale, and their children.
Rabbi Mendel Plotkin served as a mashgiach in Yeshivas Lubavitch of Toronto for several years before going into business, where he was an extraordinary baal chessed. He passed away on 6 Iyar, 5782 (2022) at the age of 43. He is survived by his wife, Goldie, and their children.
The siyum will begin at 2:00 PM at Sharon High School, where the final letters of the sefer Torah will be written in a ceremony honoring the lives of both chassidim.
At 3:30 PM, a tahalucha will proceed through the streets of Sharon, marching from the Wolosow family home to Chabad of Sharon. The celebration will continue with hakafos and Torah dancing beginning at 4:00 PM, followed by a seudas mitzva.
Transportation will be provided from Sharon High School to the Wolosow home for the tahalucha, with shuttle buses running throughout the event.
Shluchim, family members, and community members from across the region are expected to join the Wolosow and Plotkin families for this meaningful celebration.
