Continuing with the Highlights from 770 series, JEM presents this special footage from the eve of Rosh Hashana 5750 (1989).
Eve of 29 Elul: The Rebbe joins Chassidim for the Ma’ariv services. Marking 200 years since the birth of the Tzemach Tzedek, the third Rebbe of Chabad, the Rebbe delivers a special address and distributes booklets containing the Tzemach Tzedek’s notes on the Tanya.
Day of 29 Elul: Selichos and Shacharis services. With the Days of Judgment approaching, the Rebbe accepts individuals’ petitions for blessing, as well as a “Public Petition,” co-signed by all Chassidim, with wishes of a sweet new year for Jews the world over.
The Rebbe and Chassidim then visit and pray at the resting place of the Previous Lubavitcher Rebbe, Rabbi Yosef Yitzchak Schneerson.
