Thank you for following my updates over the last year, and supporting my work here in Israel. I’ll be writing shorter updates for now, due to time constraints, and will focus on the most important developments.

Gaza:

It is still unknown whether Yahya Sinwar is alive. If he is, he clearly has no interest in a ceasefire now.

The IDF is heavily striking Hamas targets in Northern Gaza, and beginning new targeted operations in Jabaliya.

The IDF called for evacuations in select areas of Central Gaza, including some where they haven’t yet operated.

Israel is expecting a rise in violent activity from Hamas on October 7th, and is preparing for it. Hamas may try to fire rockets into Israel, if they are able to, for the symbolism.

Iraq:

Two IDF soldiers were killed by a drone attack from an Iraqi militia on the Golan Heights. 24 were injured. The two are named as:
Sgt. Daniel Aviv Haim Sofer, 19, from Ashkelon.
Cpl. Tal Dror, 19, from Jerusalem

Lebanon:

Over the past few days, Hezbollah fired rockets mostly at border communities, but also at Tzfat, Haifa, Nazareth, and the areas. A few light injuries were reported.

Nasrallah’s successor-to-be, Hashem Saffiedine, is thought to have been eliminated in a recent IDF airstrike in Beirut, along with other top Hezbollah terror commanders. There is no confirmation, as rescuers haven’t been able to reach the site yet.

Two Hamas leaders were eliminated in Lebanon today, including the head of the military in Lebanon.

Elite IDF units have been secretly operating in Lebanon, undetected by Hezbollah, for almost a year, in preparation for the full maneuver, and to prevent expected attacks.

The IDF is advancing quickly in Southern Lebanon, and Hezbollah is fleeing. The IDF eliminated over 400 Hezbollah terrorists in Southern Lebanon so far.

IDF troops in Lebanon are locating and demolishing the Hezbollah tunnels which aren’t accessible with airstrikes.

Troops found huge caches of weapons in tunnels close to the border, significantly more than expected. Hezbollah planned an October 7th style attack which would have been way worse, and thank G-d was miraculously prevented.

The IDF is continuing to call for evacuations in Dahiya, a southern district of Beirut, which is Hezbollah’s stronghold. The IDF has already heavily bombed Hezbollah weapons storages and bases in the city. Heavy airstrikes in Dahiya and other parts of southern Beirut.

Iranian planes to Lebanon continue to be turned around.

Iran:

Israel and the U.S. are planning a coordinated attack on Iran, in retaliation for 200+ ballistic missiles fired at Israel last week.

United States CENTCOM chief Gen. Michael Kurilla arrived in Israel this evening to coordinate

All options are on the table. Rumored possible targets include: Nuclear site, oil fields, targeted assassinations, and assets abroad.

Iran says that if Israel strikes back, they will return with heavier fire than seen before.

Yehuda and Shomron:

The IDF eliminated at least 12 terrorists in an airstrike in Tulkarm, including a senior Hamas commander, who was planning a major terror attack on October 7the anniversary.

Troops and police will be on high alert in the area and across Israel on October 7th, due to likelihood of terrorists plans for the day.

Other:

France announced an arms embargo on Israel for weapons that could be used in Gaza, regrets IDF entry into Lebanon, and urges Israel not to attack Iran nuclear sites. Netanyahu responded with a video directly rebuking President Macron, adding: “Israel will win with or without their support, but their shame will continue long after the war has been won.”

Israel announced UN declared UN Secretary-General Antonio Gutierrez persona non grata in Israel and banned him from entering the country.

Note:

If you are in Israel and haven’t yet downloaded the Home Front Command app, please do asap, and ensure that the app has full permissions, including for locations and emergency alerts. Especially once Israel strikes Iran, it will be important to keep your phone on you, and pay attention to alerts.

For those with planned trips to Israel, asking if you should still come: I will never tell anyone not to come to Israel, or to leave. This is the land which G-d promised He always watches over, “from the beginning of the year until the end.” Be sure to patronize the struggling tourism industry while you’re here, and enjoy the holy atmosphere!
