An important message regarding the COVID-19 testing currently happening in Crown Heights was sent out in a letter signed by all the local schools.
Gut Moed,
Yesterday an email was sent out from the Yeshivas and schools asking all healthy men, women and children to get tested for COVID-19. This morning another email was sent out reiterating and explaining that the need for testing is to try to prevent closure of schools.
Despite the reassurance from the schools there are still people questioning whether this is the right thing to do.
Please note the following important points:
1) As the mechanchim of your children, we are committed to ensuring that the Yeshivas stay open and the Talmidim are learning in a safe, healthy environment.
2) As members of the community we are committed to helping stop the spread of the virus.
3) As school administrators, we are following statements from elected officials.
We are carefully following the reports regarding our zip code and we are in close contact with the askanim of the Yeshivas that have been shut down in the 9 hotspot zip codes. It is our firm belief that doing more testing and bringing down the positive COVID rate is the only way to keep the community safe and keep Yeshivas open.
Crown Heights Doctors remind all participants that a negative Covid test result does not mean that one cannot get COVID. Therefore, if one is experiencing any COVID-like symptoms please immediately contact your primary physician.
Please cooperate with us in trying to safely keep the schools open. We need to work together and hope for the best.
Testing is open till 7pm.
Wishing you and your families a Good Yomtov!
