Uplifting Shabbaton for Darchai Menachem Teachers and Their Families

Darchai Menachem held a Shabbaton to celebrate the yeshiva’s incredible teachers and their families. It was a time to recognize the immense dedication and sacrifice that the Mechanchim and their spouses make for the school.

Darchai Menachem recently held a very special Shabbaton in the Poconos to celebrate the yeshiva’s incredible teachers and their families. It was a Shabbos of appreciation, a time to recognize and honor the immense dedication and sacrifice that the Mechanchim and their spouses make for the school and the wider community.

Teachers and their families arrived at luxurious hotel rooms with ample space to relax and unwind. Beautiful gift bags were waiting for them upon arrival, and throughout Shabbos, they were treated to delicious meals, inspiring farbrengens and meaningful moments of connection.

Throughout the weekend, teachers had the opportunity to inspire and farbreng with one another, building camaraderie and strengthening their bonds as a school community. There was a significant focus on the wives of the Mechanchim as Darchai leadership took the time to highlight the tremendous sacrifices these women make every day to ensure that the Talmidim at Darchai receive the best possible education.

Rabbi Mendy Vail explained, “Being a teacher at Darchai Menachem is more than just a 9-5 job, and we wanted to publicly thank the spouses whose support is essential to our success. Our Melamdim are known for going above and beyond for their students and that is only possible thanks to the wives holding down the fort at home.”

Rabbi Vail shared the example of Darchai’s Rabbi Mendy Oster, who hosts numerous Talmidim in his home every single Shabbos, noting that it is Rabbi Oster’s wife who is the unsung hero behind the scenes enabling those connections that make such a meaningful impact on the Bochrim’s lives. The school recognized the importance of celebrating not only the teachers but also their families, who play such an essential role in making Darchai Menachem what it is.
