A new kovetz has undertaken the task of unlocking the “code” of the letters of the Rebbe’s father, Harav Reb Levi Yitzchok. It was prepared by Shlomo M. Hamburger, a Washington DC lawyer and a member of Chabad on Campus Advisory Board.
Written after many years of studying the Rebbe’s father’s Torah and correspondence with the Rebbe and others, this kovetz covers four of the letters that Harav Levi Yitzchok wrote to the Rebbe after the Rebbe had left Russia with the Frierdiker Rebbe in 5688/1927.
The letters were written before Rosh Hashonoh and the Shalosh Regolim, and they tie each Yom Tov into the upcoming wedding.
The author hopes that the kovetz will inspire others into learning more of the Rebbe’s father’s Torah, as well as others to unlock more of Harav Levi Yitzchok’s writings, despite the difficulty involved therein.
