In a generous gesture, the Chitrik family donated a collection of over 2,000 rare and unique seforim belonging to their late father, Rabbi Hershel Chitrik, to the Yeshiva Campus in Suffield, Connecticut.

In a generous gesture, the Chitrik family has donated a library of Seforim to the Yeshiva Campus in Suffield, Connecticut. The library belonged to their late father, Rabbi Hershel Chitrik a respected Talmid Chochom, and B’aal Tzedaka.

This extraordinary library is a collection of over 2,000 rare and unique seforim, most were printed in America by early rabbonim who immigrated to the United States. These volumes offer a glimpse into the early days of Torah study in America and remind us of the sacrifice and determination of those who laid the foundations of limud hatorah in a new land.

Among the gems of this collection are works authored by American Rabbonim and Torah giants such as  Rabbi Moshe Feinstein, Rabbi Yosef Ber Soloveitchik, Rabbi Shmuel Volk and others (most of the collection are seforim printed in cities around the USA pre-1940 among them are seforim printed in Boston Massachusetts 1920, Cleveland Ohio 1912, Bronx NY 1922, St. Louis Missouri 1922)

Each sefer in this collection is a testament to the love and dedication of its author. From the busy streets of New York City to the quiet towns of the Midwest, these books tell the story of Torah study in America.

It is up to us to keep this legacy alive, and ensure that these seforim are not just gathering dust but are used and cherished.

The Yeshiva Library is a seforim library housed at Yeshiva campus in Suffield Connecticut. The library is a diverse collection of  Nigla, chassidus, kabbalah, hashkafa, mussar, machshava, and more, it serves as a valuable resource for our rabbeim, talmidim and many visitors.

With a capacity of 200,000 seforim, the library is ready to expand its collection even further. We welcome donations of legacy libraries ensuring that seforim are accessible to future generations. To commemorate your donation, a special sticker will be placed in each sefer, acknowledging your family’s generosity and perpetuating their legacy of limud hatorah.
