At around 10:30 last night an underground fire sent flames through the air on Kingston Ave. between President and Union Streets in Crown Heights. The street was temporarily closed off for vehicular traffic.

Multiple firefighters responded to the scene of the explosion and quickly extinguished the flames.

It seems like the fire was caused by multiple underground transformers that have blown out and caught fire.

In recent years there has been a rise in underground explosions on Kingston Avenue.
