At around 10:30 this morning three underground explosions rocked the area of Empire Blvd and Brooklyn Avenue, sending smoke into the air and causing panic.
Multiple firefighters responded to the scene of the explosion, which temporarily closed off for vehicular traffic. Firefighters went from house to house to check for dangerous levels of carbon monoxide.
Crown Heights Shomrim told Anash.org that the explosions in the area of Empire Blvd and Brooklyn Avenue are due to multiple manholes exploding. The Fire Department is operating on the scene to fix the situation.
