Shluchim from across Ukraine and their families recently gathered at the Menorah Center in Dnipro, the world’s largest Jewish center, for a Shabbos Achdus and regional Kinus Hashluchim.

The Shabbaton focused on strengthening achduus both in a broad sense and within the specific context of the challenges faced in Ukraine. Rabbi Shmuel Kaminetsky, Chief Rabbi and Head Shliach of Dnipro, highlighted the difficulties encountered by the Rebbe’s shluchim in Ukraine, especially during the ongoing war. Unlike in Western countries, where spiritual issues predominate, Ukrainian envoys are actively involved in addressing physical health, survival, and financial concerns. This heightened responsibility makes their work demanding, requiring significant spiritual strength and mental energy.

The shluchim and their families enjoyed the excellent conditions provided by the Menorah center during Shabbos. The event aimed to allow them to relax, be rejuvenated, and gather strength to continue their holy mission in their mekomos hashlichus.

The choice of timing for the Shabbos Achdus was deliberate, the Shabbos preceding Yud Shvat, the day the Rebbe become nosi, and the yom hilula of the Frierdiker Rebbe. The Shabbos served as a 24-hour long hachana for that significant day.

Rabbi Kaminetsky expressed gratitude that their city and community were selected to host such a special event for all the shluchim. The Shabbaton was dedicated to family, unity, and future plans, providing an opportunity for the Rebbe’s shluchim to recharge with positive energy and inspiration.

The culmination of the Shabbos Achdus was a grand Melave Malka held in the ballroom hall of the Menorah Center.

As they headed back home, the shluchim expressed their gratitude to the organizers, and said that without a doubt, the Shabbos Achdus had successfully fulfilled its objectives.
