A large Hakhel event was held recently in Thornhill, Toronto where several shluchim and mashpi’im spoke about the importance of the Rambam’s Hilchos Moshiach and the Rebbe’s Dvar Malchus.

On the 13th of Iyar, the yahrzeit of Reb Yisroel Arye Leib Schneerson, in the days leading up to the 15th of Iyar, the day on which the Rebbe distributed the Kuntres “Dvar Malchus” Rabbi Menachem Mendel Ezagui organized a grand Hakhel gathering in Toronto, aimed to awaken and strengthen the study of the sefer Dvar Malchus.
This sefer collects and organizes all the Rebbe’s explanations on the laws of the Moshiach according to the view of the Rambam.
A large crowd gathered for the 5-hour symposium addressed by 11 rabbis who spoke about the importance of studying the topics of Moshiach and Geulah, specifically in the sefer Dvar Malchus. Four speakers summarized and discussed the content of one of the four discourses in the pamphlet Dvar Malchus distributed by the Rebbe.
The Hakhel started off with hearing a sicha of the Rebbe on the laws of Moshiach in the Rambam, followed by words of inspiration from 11 rabbis. Speakers were: Rabbi Hershel Rabiski, shliach to Maon Noam Beis Chabad Toronto, Rabbi Levi Yitzchak Rabiski, Rov at Maon Noam in Toronto, Rabbi Yitzchak Chakak, one of the Sephardic Rabonim in Toronto, Rabbi Yaakov Shalom Goldstein, Mashpia in Mesivta Lubavitch Toronto, Dr. Aryeh Gutfreid, Rabbi David Bisk, Rabbi Mendel Korf, a Mashpia in Toronto, Rabbi Yoel Doron, Rabbi Eliezer Danzinger, one of the leading scholars in the translation of Chassidus into English, Rabbi Shalom Ber Bakshi, esteemed Mechanech and Shliach of Chabad to Woodbridge, and compiler of the sefer Dvar Malchus Rabbi Menachem Mendel Ezagui.
During the Hakhel gathering, many participants purchased the book “Dvar Malchus” at a greatly discounted price as an honor to the occasion. There were also tables set up with refreshments, fruits, and drinks for the participants.
At the conclusion of the event, the attendees gathered around the arranged tables, where the shliach of the Rebbe, Rabbi Hershel Rabiscky, farbrenged with the olam the profound divine providence in specific details and the significance of the community and the study of the concepts of Moshiach and redemption.
