After the recent easing up of Covid-19 restrictions in Montreal, the community can now come together publicly in larger groups. On Sunday, Tammuz 10, a large crowd gathered in the Yeshiva zal for the 40th annual Siyum HaRambam.

Rabbi Shmuel Kramer, member of the yeshiva administration, served as the emcee of the evening. He introduced Rabbi Dovid Banon, shliach to Laval and member of the Montreal Beis Din. Rabbi Banon was honored with concluding the 40th cycle of the Rambam.

Next to speak was Rabbi Shlomo Knapp. He spoke about his decision to start learning 3 perakim of Rambam every day, and the blessings of success that he saw in the education of his children, livelihood and more. He was honored with beginning the forty-first cycle of the Rambam.

The shliach to Westmount, Rabbi Yosef Shanowitz, spoke about the Rambam’s general approach and encouraged the audience to strengthen their commitment to learning.

The guest speaker of the evening was the mashpia at the Lubavitcher Yeshiva in Toronto, Rabbi Avraham Mann. He spoke about the importance of daily learning and how fulfilling the Rebbe’s takono is a practical way to connect with the Rebbe.

After his talk, he continued to farbreng with anash and bochurim until the late hours of the night.
