An exciting new kids’ video series called Tales of the Baal Shem Tov is now available from Torah Luminations, the producers of the popular “Maharal and Golem of Prague” DVDs.
The first episode of Tales of the Baal Shem Tov was just released, and is available for online streaming or download for offline viewing.
In this 32-minute episode entitled “Reb Yoel Baal Shem Scares the Shaydim”, the history of the Baal Shem Tov is shared by an elder chosid who is sitting around a campfire with the cheder boys from Team Tzaddikim. He shares the origins of the Baal Shems starting with Reb Eliyahu Baal Shem and introduces our story with Reb Yoel Baal Shem.
Plot Summary: In this story, we meet a chosid by the name of Reb Boruch. In the village of Posen where Reb Boruch lives, he and seven other families are being harassed by mysterious noises and happenings in their apartment building. This building was owned by Reb Tuvia and Sara Gitel Goldshmidt, A”H.
Reb Boruch goes to Reb Yoel Baal Shem for yechidus. It is revealed in yechidus that these strange noises were created by “non-kosher” speech. Watch, laugh and learn how the families and village are saved by Reb Yoel Baal Shem’s advice. Look for the special song and cute dancing performed by these fun-loving, mischievous Shayddim!
It’s All About Chinuch and Making Yiddishkeit Real
For girls and boys, ages 4 through 13+, these videos bring the adventures and teachings of the Baal Shem Tov to life! These videos are reviewed and approved by Rabbonim as well as Mechonchim. This Episode 1 of “Tales of the Baal Shem Tov” creates opportunities for families to discuss by the dinner or Shabbos table, the beautiful Torah lessons that are so vividly portrayed such as:
