This Sunday evening, the 27th of Adar, three generations of Chassidim from the Lowenthal family will share their perspectives on the day, each from their unique viewpoint.
This Sunday evening, the 27th of Adar, the Loewenthal brothers are hosting a unique farbrengen to discuss the significance of 27 Adar today. The event, organized by the Moshiach Office at Merkos 302, is geared towards Lubavitchers worldwide, and will feature three generations of Chassidim sharing their perspectives on the day.
On 27 Adar I, 5752, marked a significant moment in Lubavitch history, as it was the day that the Rebbe suffered a stroke that robbed him of his ability to speak. Chassidim all over the world have been eagerly awaiting to hear the Rebbe’s voice again, and the Loewenthal brothers have come together to reflect on what the day means today.
The panelists at the farbrengen will include Dr. Tali Loewenthal, a lecturer at University College London and author of academic books and articles on the thought and history of Chabad; Rabbi Yitzi Loewenthal, a Shliach in Copenhagen, Denmark; Rabbi Moshe Loewenthal, a teacher in Yeshivah College in Melbourne, Australia; Rabbi Dr. Mendy Loewenthal, a doctor in Toronto, Canada; Rabbi Zalmy Loewenthal, Director of CKids – Chabad Children’s Network; and Rabbi Levi Loewenthal, Shliach in Copenhagen, Denmark.
Each Loewenthal brother will bring their unique perspective to the farbrengen, with vocations spanning from academia to community leadership. Despite their different day jobs, they are all united in their goal to fulfill the Rebbe’s mission. “We all have different day jobs, but the common denominator is that we are chassidim of the Rebbe in search of fulfilling his mission,” says Rabbi Zalmy Loewenthal, director of CKids International.
“Chof Zayin Adar is a day of pause,” says Rabbi Shlomie Naparstek, Director of the Moshiach Office at Merkos 302. “A day to refocus and realign with the mission to carry the Rebbe’s message forward”
The farbrengen promises to be a unique opportunity to hear from a diverse group of Chassidim on the meaning and significance of 27 Adar today. Lubavitchers around the world are encouraged to join in and be inspired by the panelists’ insights and experiences.
