As an Australian, I am writing today in response to the horrible Sydney Massacre that occurred just one week ago and to address the situation in Australia.

It is not a surprise that this happened. It is not a shock. We all saw it coming. Yes, it is still surprising when it actually happens, but the idea of ‘something’ happening was always there.

As thousands gathered for a vigil just one week after the terrorist attack, the somber scene turned to anger as the Prime Minister entered, with much shouting, cursing him out, and an overall sense of anger. But why?

Well, as I have lived in Australia my whole life, I do believe that I am somewhat qualified to explain the situation – and why it does indeed require international intervention on the federal level.

The Rise in Antisemitism

Since Oct. 7th 2023, the rise in antisemitism in Australia has been immense. The numbers are astounding:

In the period of October of 2023, a group monitoring the situation reported an 800% increase in antisemitic incidents compared to the year before.

A report by the Executive Council of Australian Jewry (ECAJ) showed incidents quadrupled (increased about 316 %) in the 12-month period after Oct 7, 2023, compared with the previous year.

In fact, just weeks after the attacks of October 7th, 2023, a pro-Palestinian rally outside of the Sydney Opera House turned into public shouts of ‘Gas the Jews’. Not kidding – thousands of people shouting this in public.

Ok, so now that we have established that there was a huge spike in antisemitism, let’s discuss the government’s response:

Wait, is that blank on purpose? Yup! The government, for the past 2 years, did absolutely nothing! They allowed this antisemitic rhetoric to fester, allowing the Islamists and terrorist sympathizers to feel emboldened, empowered, and supported by the government. They felt as though they were invincible – that they had full control.

And that is what led to the attack on December 14th 2025.

Without any doubt in anyone’s mind, the attacks of December 14th, is the fault of the government. The Isalmist mindset. The cowardly police. Everything. It is all the fault of Anthony Albanese (PM), and his entire administration.

But the worst part is that he has still not realized what he has done. Instead, he has announced new hate speech laws (Australia does not have the coveted first amendment), even strict gun control laws (even though they currently have the strictest, and look where it got them – a second amendment would’ve definitively helped the situation), and an ‘investigation to see if the police have the power to stop threats like this’.

Enough is enough.

Leaders of the world need to lead by example – to show Albo what he is doing wrong. December 14th should’ve been a wakeup call.

I beg of the Australian Government to please take the RIGHT action. To speak to people. To speak and engage in some dialogue with the Jewish community to see what is ACTUALLY needed – not what THEY THINK is needed.
