French Lubavitcher singer Shmil released an upbeat tune that Chassidim would sing in Soviet Russia, and was largely unknown among the wider public, or even in Chabad circles.
According to the singer, who released an album of Chabad niggunim in the past, the niggun was passed from father to son for generations, but was not widely known until today.
Shmil says he heard the niggun from Rabbi Berel Pashter, Mashpia in Yeshiva of Brunoy, who in turn heard it from the renowned chossid R’ Berkeh Chein.
