In honor of Yud Alef Nissan – 120 Years, Beis Rivkah of Montreal printed a beautiful card entitled “Thank You Rebbe…”, giving a glimpse of what the Rebbe gave and gives to Klal Yisroel and the entire world. Attached to the card is a smaller card which has the Rebbe’s new Kapitel of Tehillim on one side, and the Rebbetzin’s Kapitel on the other side. This was distributed to the students and parents. The card was prepared by Rabbi Yosef Minkowitz and Mrs Shterni Rosenfeld.
One of the preparations for Yud Alef Nissan was the High School students’ participation in the program “120 Years – 120 Letters”, which was started after Yud Shvat. Each week students were quizzed on the letters of that week and prizes were raffled. At the Yud Alef Nissan assembly there were raffles for $120 cash prizes for each grade. The Grand Prize was a Dollar of the Rebbe, given 45 years ago on Yud Alef Nissan 5737. All students whose average was over 70 on all the quizzes received beautiful jewelry, courtesy of Mrs. Julie Gniwisch of Delmar Jewelers. Rivkah Silberstein of grade 6 was honored at the assembly for receiving the Gold Trophy, the highest award, at the recent International Chidon Sefer Hamitzvos.
In the Elementary School – starting from Chof Zayin Adar Rishon, every school day began with an inspiring Rebbe Thought, to strengthen the students’ Hiskashrus to the Rebbe. Before davening, the girls were reminded about 5 crucial points that will help them Daven Like a Chossid. The teachers were impressed by the students’ genuine enjoyment of the program. There was a weekly raffle for the girls who showed that they were taking the Hachona to heart, and a Grand Raffle for $120 before Yud Alef Nissan. During the last week of school there was an emphasis that the girls should add something in Torah and Mitzvos in honor of the Rebbe’s 120th Yom Huledess. Some girls even brought Matzos to their “Neshek Partners” whom they call every Friday during the year. These raffle entries were deposited by the students in an oversize “Gift to the Rebbe” giftbox, and they were rewarded with prizes. This is in addition to the girls’ enthusiastic participation in the worldwide “Tanya B’al Peh” gift to the Rebbe, in honor of Yud Alef Nissan.
