Teenager Robbed and Assaulted in Crown Heights

A 14-Year-old boy was robbed and assaulted Sunday night in Crown Heights in the latest in a string of incidents in the neighborhood.

A 14-Year-old boy was robbed and assaulted on Sunday night in Crown Heights.

The incident occurred on Sunday night at around 8:30 PM near the intersection of East New York Avenue and Troy Avenue, when a group of 4 men approached the victim, assaulted him and robbed him of his possessions.

Shomrim units arrived quickly and began searching the area by then the perpetrators had already fled the scene. Police took the boy to canvass for the attackers but they were unable to locate them.

Although shaken, thankfully the victim was unhurt. He was examined by Hatzalah before being released home.

Over the past few days, there has been a number of disturbing incident in the community. On Shabbos afternoon Crown Heights Shomrim received a call about a male brandishing a knife at people as he was walking through the neighborhood.

Shomrim volunteers arrived quickly on the scene and kept an eye on him until officers from the 71st precinct arrived and took him into custody.

On Friday night as the streets were full of people returning from Shul, Shomrim volunteers were alerted to a male setting off a taser in the streets.

The perpetrator was quickly located and followed until officers arrived and placed him under arrest.
