For the seventh consecutive summer, Paris teens enjoyed an innovative program called “Chayalim”, which included learning with awards and incentives, davening, farbrengens, mivtzoyim, trips and activities.
The program concluded with an uplifting farbrengen led by their shliach and youth director, Rabbi Shmulik Tewel of Aubervilliers, France. Following the farbrengen, the teens made hachlotos and wrote to the Rebbe.
“These four weeks of inspiration, especially the shiurim every morning by the shliach Rabbi Arie Tzvi Nisilevitch, will stay with me for the rest of my life,” one of the teens shared.
Another teen said, “The mivtzoyim experience on the streets of Paris with Rabbi Yehouda Laloum has touched me to the core and has given me a sense of Jewish pride.”
The teens davened daily at their very own minyan, which gave them the opportunity to ‘come out of their box’ by being chazan, and performing the other shul roles, in a safe and friendly environment.
Rabbi Shmulik concludes, “We initially planned a four week program, but as it turned out, the guys appreciated it so much that we decided to extend it into a full fledged Yeshivas Kayitz with the bochurim of Brunoy.”
“This program was a true revolution for the growing number of struggling teens out there,” organizers said. “Thanks to the Rebbe’s brochos and all of the dedicated staff of the Shneor institutions the teen summer program has been a tremendous success.”
This program is dedicated l’iluy nishmas haTomim Menachem Mendel Halevi a”h ben R’ Sholem Bruchstat.
